    "The Host" Season Two
Although the FBI has officially shut down the X-Files, Mulder and Scully are reunited when a Russian seaman is found dead in the sewers of Newark, NJ.  Mulder thinks the case is a wild goose chase until Scully finds a small parasite, called a Fluke worm, that could have caused the Russian's death.
The magnitude of the case intensifies when Mulder begins to receive cryptic messages from a mysterious man who identifies himself only as a "friend in the FBI" - the first appearance of Mulder's second informant, "X".
When a New Jersey sewer worker is attacked by something much bigger, the Agents discover that the small parasite isn't the only murder suspect.  Mulder and Scully are soon racing to capture what could be a human-sized Fluke worm - and are faced with the possibility that this monster isn't just a genetic mutation but something that we ourselves created.
