Vintage Wilcox Silver Plate Co Silver Plate Tureen/ Oval Silver Plate Tureen

$ 116.16

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Age: 1900-1940
  • Condition: In overall good vintage condition with some obvious normal wear throughout. A dark splotchy patina. Tarnish on the silver plate finish. Some scratches, markings and other normal wear. The lid doesn’t sit tight on the Tureen. I believe it was made like this as I don’t think it happened from use. Please see the pictures and look closely to see what I mean. The lid doesn’t sit flat to the rim and sits up a bit from rim so it doesn’t fit tightly. See all pictures for size and condition clarification. This is silver plate and has some spots of reflections of light. I didn’t use silver cleaner to clean it as some people prefer the dark splotchy patina from the tarnish it acquires from passing of time. In my opinion it would benefit from a good cleaning with silver cleaner to shine it up but I will leave that up to the buyer.

    This is an old item/ preowned/ vintage/ used and has typical wear throughout and the silver plate has a dark splotchy tarnish or patina along with some normal scratches, other wear throughout. But in general g condition for age. As mentioned above the lid doesn’t fit tight. It kind of just sits on top of the Tureen and leaves a space between the two rims edges. Please see all pictures for clarification and be sure to look clo to see what I mean. It does not appear to be damaged at all but is made like that I believe. In all it’s a n tur I am just trying to list all that I see. From the research I did on the company I believe it is circa 1930’s but i wasn’t able to find any that also had the markings of “Marie Louise “ so I cannot be positive.
