Up for sale today is this Roy Campanella Personally Worn Catchers Mask and Glove w/ COA. The glove and mask were donated directly to Franklin by Campanella in 1975 during a personal appearance that he was kind enough to make on the Joe Franklin Show. The mask may have been used by Campanella in the "So called Negro League".
Great piece of Baseball history that should not be overlooked.
Franklin was an American radio and television host personality, author and actor from New York City. His television series debuted in January 1951 on WJZ-TV (later WABC-TV), moving to WOR-TV (later WWOR-TV) in 1962, remaining there until 1993, one of the longest running uninterrupted careers in broadcasting history. Franklin was well known for asking his guest to contribute a piece of memorabilia for his Memory Lane Collection and Restaurant.
