    Description

Presented is a wonderful quality silver plated bowl made by Meriden Britannia Company. The two-handled bowl is done in the desirable Assyrian Head pattern which was first produced in 1887. The bowl has a beautiful band of raised decoration around the middle depicting the heads of classical figures interspersed with fancy flowers, shells and scrolls.
The bowl is marked on the underside with Meriden B. Quadruple Plate. Both Roger Smith & Co. and Rogers Brothers also made this exact pattern, although this piece is stamped by Meridian Britannia & Co.. These companies were interrelated.
The bowl is in good condition overall. There is quite a bit of wear to the silver plating as you can see in the photographs, but the decoration is sharp and crisp. There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
The bowl is 6 1/2 inches wide across the handles and 3 1/4 inches tall.
